Perdry — Horseback Trail Rides (±15 km)

“Kom geniet ’n heerlike dag in die natuur op die rug van ’n pragtige dier!” Experience Arbitersfontein from the saddle on a guided or pleasure trail ride across wide Karoo plains, rocky ridges, and shallow farm dams.

Our horseback trail covers approximately ±15 km of scenic farm terrain at R300 per person per day (riding at own risk / eie risiko). Self-catering overnight accommodation is available right on the farm for multi-day riding weekends.

Stap — Koppie Hikes & Farm Walks

Lace up your hiking boots and explore kilometres of unspoilt Karoo footpaths directly from the farmhouse lawn. Climb the dolerite koppies for 360-degree views over the Southern Free State plains, spot industrious Karoo dung beetles (miskruiers) and birdlife along wildflower trails, and pause for group photos beside the old vintage farm car wreck in the veld.

Visvang & Swem — Fishing & Swimming

On warm Karoo summer days, guests and families can also enjoy refreshing swimming (swem) right on the farm to cool off after a morning trail ride or hike!

Blesbokke Jag — Karoo Hunting Experience

Boma Campfires, Stargazing, Dirt Bikes & MTB

With zero city light pollution, evenings on Arbitersfontein belong to the boma campfire (firewood is provided free of charge) and the Milky Way overhead. By day, the quiet district gravel roads and farm tracks are a favourite base for adventure motorcyclists, dirt bikers, and mountain bikers.

April — Arbitersfontein Mountain Bike Race (Bergfiets Wedren): In April, Farm Arbitersfontein forms part of a regional mountain bike race route! Book early for rider and supporter accommodation right on the course.

July — Philippolis Wynloop, Wildsblitz Fees, Perde Skou & Perde Uithourit: July is festival month in the district—featuring the famous Philippolis Wine Route (Wynloop), the Wildsblitz Festival, the Horse Show (Perde Skou), and the legendary Fauresmith Horse Endurance Ride (Perde Uithourit).
